The Capital Garage Equipment Technik 20 series, has been designed with the crane and mobile crane vehicles in mind. The crane brake tester allows for the testing of vehicles that are usually to specialist to be tested on a standard brake tester. The same machine is supplied to liebherr cranes in Germany.

Some of the benefits of the CGE Technik 20 series is the extended width the brake tester has, the brake tester has been modified to enable testing of ALL CRANE vehicle widths.
Along with the legislation changes set out by the DVSA for testing of specialist vehicles among that category are mobile cranes, which means the vehicles now have to be tested annually and during the course of the year to be compliant with the DVSA guidelines.
The Technik commercial brake tester 20 series for the heavy duty commercial market has the following specification:
- Wider body, allowing for wider vehicles such as cranes to be tested on the same brake tester as a car, light commercial, tractor unit, trailer, busses, coaches and PSV’s.
- Large chains to run the gearbox and motor, this allows less pressure on the key components despite the increased axle weights, being tested on the crane brake tester.
- A choice of 11kw, 15kw or 18.5kw motor depending on axle loads the end user is looking at testing, the increased motor sizes allows for heavier vehicles to put less strain on the gearbox and motor
- Soft start, when starting the brake tester the soft start kicks in to put less pressure on the gearbox and motor when the brake tester is first started.
- Large Axle drive over limit, the drive over limit for the 20 series crane brake tester is 22t.
